Of Mice and Men ~ Hilberry Repertory Theatre

It is Erman Jones' non-verbal communication that stands out. Anyone who knows the developmentally disabled will recognize the reality in Jones's gestures, grimaces and tics  even the gentle, childlike voice is dead on.

Peter Prouty as George and Erman Jones as Lennie anchor the show. Jones fully incorporates the halting, childlike speech of a mentally challenged adult. Both actors deliver superb performances.

What's remarkable is that Erman Jones is so thoroughly believable as Lennie, giving us his own unique take on the character. Jones knows just how long to pause when Lennie must try to sort out a new situation, or process new information. It is truly a masterful portrayal.
